Vision Crew ‘Seeing Is Believing’

Lewisham’s Vision Crew are back together again, proving ‘Seeing Is Believing’ with their brand new LP

Since their formation in 2014, the Blue Borough’s Vision Crew have brought a fresh and very unique energy to the game. Today they have unleashed 12 tracks that really highlight where they are now at and the lane that they have carved for themselves.

Although we have seen glimpses of the crew as individuals (Ezro in particular has kept fans well-fed with a consistent stream of excellently executed releases), it’s been around two years since we’ve last seen Vision Crew put out a project together as a collective. This project serves as a perfect reminder of Vision Crew’s sound and the impact they can have on the scene.

Personal highlights from the project include lead single ‘No Discussions’, an 808-heavy, more drill influenced track that dropped in May, ‘Up All Knight’ and ‘Still in the Blue’.

Vision Crew’s sound has evolved throughout the time they’ve been together but the essence of what makes the crew so special has remained the same; bold, cutting production and the dynamic range of lyrical styles and influences that each MC in the crew has. Their lyrical abilities have clearly been honed through countless hours of radio (particularly during the times of Radar Radio) and a fairly long foray into Novelist’s ‘Ruff Sound’ movement, meaning that each MC is able to convey their distinctive energy on the project with ease. The lo-fi bassy productions and clever use of sampling that they first burst onto the scene with is still very much present in this project, but their productions seem to have matured to a new level now and taken on fresh influence from more contemporary sounds.

Vision Crew are back where they belong, putting out music together and I look forward to what’s to come from the crew who have long been hailed as one of the most exciting acts on the scene.
