Grime Originals Virtual Showcase 18th October

Last night’s live was an absolute madness, still!

Grime Originals Virtual Showcase 3

Once again Sharky Major is accompanied by DJ Logan Sama whilst taking on the hosting duties of the third and finale live show in the Virtual Showcase series. Although the series has unfortunately come to an end, it definitely went out with a bang. This time round we are blessed with none other than Sir Spyro on decks, taking us through a collection of mainly new riddims with a few hidden classics.

Following a similar layout to the second episode, we see a short clip from the forthcoming Docuseries. This time coming from human sound machine that is Flirta D. Talking on how he came to develop on of the most distinctive flow in not just the grime scene, but the whole of UK music.

Following the short trailer, Flirta D is first to kick of the showcase. Being an integral part of the grime scene it was only right to get him on the show. Displaying his talent through abnormal flows and live adlibs, Flirta D truly is one of the most original and authentic artists out there.

Next up on the showcase, Big Narstie represents the Bass Defence League with the first international appearance. Locking in from his newly opened coffee shop, ‘The Plug’ in Teneriffe, Big Narstie treats us to some ‘BDL Bars’ whilst stood in front of a giant mural of the legend himself.

The final set of the night was an all Birmingham set. Kicking off one of the originators of the Birmingham scene, Badness sprays his classic bars to ‘Dem Dem’. An artist that bridged the gap between drum & bass and grime whilst still displaying a clear Jamaican, sound system influence.

Next up on the show was Dizzle Kid, spraying a collection of aggressive and high energy lyrics that are sure to take off head tops. Solidifying why he is one of the hardest to come from the Birmingham scene and that he is still repping for his city.

The final artist to grace the show is the one and only Devilman. Another grime scene legend from Birmingham that has been shutting down both drum & bass and grime raves for years. Another artist with an un-imitable flow that has for sure paved the way for many that have followed in his footsteps.
