Against All Odds Part One – Femi Oyeniran and Nicky ‘Slimting’ Walker

Premiered on Channel U upon the highly-anticipated return of the esteemed grime satellite station, ‘Against All Odds – Part One’ infallibly leaves us wanting more. As the first of it’s kind, the official ‘Grime’ movie was unmistakably one of the standout acts on the line-up.
The short-film, directed by Femi Oyeniran and Nicky ‘Slimting’ Walker, takes us on a journey with Active, a college student struggling to establish himself in the scene as an MC. It gives us an insight into the trials and tribulations that many young men like him face on the streets of London, and how he attempts to navigate his way through.
The scene is instantly set with the infamous ‘Pied Piper’ instrumental by Ruff Sqwad as the opening track, and the film features many familiar faces from the opening scene and throughout including Jamakabi, D Power Diesle, Grime Gran, Risky Roadz, Jammer and Miraa May.
The official soundtrack boasts a cocktail of original tracks from some of Grime’s most illustrious artists such as Capo Lee, Novelist, Sir Spyro, Maxwell D, Active and more.
