Oh my days! Where to begin? It’s war season, Grime is very much alive, and Chip is back, and in full effect!

Chip has sent for Stormzy, not once, but twice, releasing two diss tracks In one day, via GRM Daily. There’s a lot to unpack.

Here’s a brief breakdown of the beef between Chip and Stormzy, so far:

Chip appeared to take shots at Stormzy on his verse on ‘Waze’, with the bars –

‘Round here we don’t hear you’re a king, man will take your throne (yeah)
Piss on your forehead, know your role
With cold spitters you ain’t never been toe for toe (fool)
Step in the ring, get shown the ropes (fool)
Tell me what, you believe in God? (Ah)
Kill ’em off, that’s a holy ghost (brrt)’

However, this was called slightly into question, due to these specific lyrics –

‘You ain’t been platinum, silver or gold
You ain’t even been bronze, you div (lowe it)‘

With certain man determining he was coming for Mez.

Next up was Stormzy’s verse on Tion Wayne’s riddim, where he took some slightly guarded shots at Chip, due to the discrepancy of who ‘Waze’ was aimed at, with the pattern –

‘Is he sending for me? I dunno
What them boy there sell first week? I dunno (boy, boy)
When they ask for the fee let ’em know that’s it 1.5 for the headline show
Little nigga, that’s milli’s not thousands
Stormzy the goat but they really been doubtin’
Came offline, I’ve been chillin’ in mountains
How about you, bro? I really sell albums
Wait, look, I thought I heard shots but the shoe don’t fit
Can’t flex on me with Louboutin drip (come on)
‘Cause my nigga, that’s stupid shit (come on)
We all know that I’m stupid rich
Can’t stand these neeks when they talk on the tune
‘Cause it’s, “wagwan bro?” When I walk in the room
That’s Big Mike, the most paid, the most sold
And I still get love from all of the goons, like’

Roll forward three months, and we have discovered that back in June, Stormzy pulled up, looking for Chip, somewhere in the middle of it all.

Yesterday’s drop “Flowers’ sees Chip addressing all of it, and he isn’t trying to take any prisoners. Reminding us what he’s made of, and that he will never back down on the mic, with shots fired left and right, Chip said…
