Big E-D presents ‘The Archive’ of tracks he was working on from 2004-2012
Veteran grime producer Big E-D has dropped off a 10 track project, a selection of previously unreleased tracks he worked on from 2004-2012 in the early stages of grime’s journey.
E-D, best known for producing the iconic beat for ‘Frontline’ (which D Double E famously vocalled), delivers a hugely insightful look into the development of his sound from the early days of grime through to the period of the sound’s more commercial adoption.
The project features a few standout instrumentals, such as ‘Gunshot Riddim’ which was vocalled by grime legends such as Lethal Bizzle, Demon, Jookie Mundo and others. Another personal highlight is the hard-hitting ‘Rattlesnake’.
On this project Big E-D provides a hugely interesting window back into the early days of grime and its progression. Projects like this are important to remember the foundations of the scene and the innovations that first drove it forward.
