Miz is back on the airwaves for another live show for Reprezent Radio playing underground music from all different types of artists in the Grime, Rap and Afro scenes around the UK, using her platform to promote other people’s work who don’t get enough time in the spotlight as well as an interview and freestyle from Manga Saint Hilare this week.
In the interview Manga speaks on not being a part of the industry and doing his own thing from the early 2000s. Manga also speaks on the way the scene has changed from pirate radio to the music discovery/streaming era such as SoundCloud and speaks on its pros and cons. Manga speaks on how the new style of industry with streaming has supported him more than old school white labels / vinyl and selling music through iTunes, he also promotes Bandcamp saying that it is the best way to make income off music in 2021. Manga also speaks on being a “Grime Artist” and how that can extend to other music since these talents were defined in Grime music. He also addresses the stigma attached to being a Grime Artist explaining that there is nothing wrong with it and people should stay true to themselves instead of attempting to fit in with the crowd. Manga then speaks on his new project with Lewi B “Glow in the Dark” telling us how it came about and was meant to be a deluxe version of his album “Make it out Alive” however it became its own project since the pandemic lasted so long Manga had more time in studio to make songs.
The Fat Steve Show is live 7-9pm on Wednesdays every other week.
